The new office is like a hive on valium. You hear and see all the tell tale signs that serious work is being done, but you never see the actual work itself.
Memos, faxes, phone calls, papers bustling.. an arcade's worth of beeps and blips, and no scurrying, no panic stricken faces.
Mondays aren't so painful these days, starting at 9 am with a large coffee in front of the abacus(see jan 14), running through my favorite comics.. I like mondays because a weekend without newspapers lets me read 3 days worth each of all my favorite comic strips.
The phone rings once on average before 12, and I'm usually in the bathroom or wandering aimlessly at that point, so all phone calls get answered by the bossman.. Scott.

Scott's quick stats:

Late 20's or early 30's but balding. Possible immense underachiever in highschool and college and repaying those indescretions by becoming a complete workaholic.
He seems to be a bit jealous that at twenty one I'm sporting an ulcer that would impress an air traffic controller, while he merely has that red glow indicative of "high blood pressure" (also known as a rookie stress meter) So, in order to compete with me he stresses out about unfathomably pointless things, like fonts and "deadlines"

and so on,

So Scott usually answers the phone.. and since he gets in a few hours earlier than me on mondays, he usually grabs and sorts the mail too while I look up my hit counter on my blog.

This is the morning routine for both monday and tuesday, which repeats shortly after a two hour lunchbreak and is relabeled as "the afternoon routine"

Wednesday and thursdays, Scott usually spends about 200 miles away, and leaves me the task of running the office while he is away. Normally, a task like this would be near impossible for a lowly intern, luckily I downloaded a few program which really help me keep my days running smoothly and without incident (Instant messenger and a copy of the original grand theft auto)

Thursdays are technically my last day of work, but the deal in my office is that I show up on friday to grab the mail and throw it on the office and I get to clock an hour's worth of work for it.... I never do this, and I think I'm slowly convincing Scott that all of friday's mail is locked in a vault (along with wednesday's and thursday's) until monday morning.

.. and on a lighter note,
I think freebasing Cocaine is not actually as bad as smoking crack... smoke up
